Sun Mar 1 - DNR - Walked about 22 miles around Lake Mendota. The knee was achy just walking. It was 9° when starting off at 5:30 AM and in the mid 20s + sunny by the end (close to noon).
Mon Mar 2 - DNR - Walked about a mile. Knee is still achy walking. Tried running for 1 second and knee became painful.
Tues Mar 3 - DNR - Injured right knee.
Wed Mar 4 - DNR - Had knee checked out at the Bone & Joint Clinic in Plover. X-rays didn’t show anything (as I’d expected). Got prescribed Meloxicam, an anti-inflammatory medication.
Thurs Mar 5 - DNR - Knee isn’t as achy when bending it or walking around. I think the Meloxicam is helping. Might try a test run tomorrow.
Fri Mar 6: AM. Ran 4 mins. Knee was ok for about 30 seconds, then became more and more painful. It was dark and foggy, temp in the low 40s.
Sat Mar 7: AM. Walked 1 min, ran 1 min x 10 or 11. Knee was getting more achy with each minute of running. It was cloudy and in the upper 50s. PM. In Stevens Point, walked the Point Bock course. It was cloudy and around 40° -Great racing weather!
The DNR-streak continues— hooray for the DNR!
I’ll being seeing a physical therapist next week. If the knee doesn’t show significant improvement after a few weeks of PT, I’ll lobby for an MRI.
